Bulldogs News · Willie Fowler and Entire Lady Cross Country Team Are State Bound

Friday November 2nd is the State Championship for Cross Country. It will be held at Carrolton High School.  The 6A boys will compete at 9:00 am which will include senior Willie Fowler. He finished fourth overall in the region meet. This is just his second year participating the sport and he has quickly risen to the top. It will be hard to replace such a hard working self driven athlete.

The girls compete at 9:45 am. That team include Kiyah Pittmon and Ameera Thomas which are also impact players on the girls basketball team. Next up we have senior Jade Turner Perry who is the raining champion in the 800 meter. Jayda Price is new to the sport and I can not wait to see what she does for track and field in the spring. The same can be said for Shyann Daniels. She is new to the sport and has come so far it is insane. We also have soccer star Julietta Aguirre, newcomer Bethany Long and Kierra Clay.

This is the second year the lady bulldogs will be ranked in the state. Mount Zion had long been know to be a track school but it is beginning to be known for cross country as well.
